השיר החדש של Smashing Pumpkins
לאחר שהלהקה פרסמה ספירה מסטורית לאחור שמערציה לא הבינו מה בדיוק היא אומרת ויצרה תיאוריות רבות, שחררה להקת Smashing Pumpkins שני שירים חדשים מתוך האלבום הקרוב שלהם.
הלהקה שחררה החודש את שני השירים, “Cyr” ו”The Colour of Love” מאלבום ה”חצי” איחוד שלהם, “No Past. No Future. No Sun” שהוא הראשון של הלהקה מאז שנת 2018.
בילי קורגן מהלהקה מצהיר, “Cyr is dystopic folly, one soul against the world sort of stuff, set against a backdrop of shifting loyalties and sped up time. To me it stands as both hopeful and dismissive of what is and isn’t possible with faith”.
במהלך הסגר של מגיפת הקורונה, בדומה ללהקות ואמנים רבים גם Smashing Pumpkins ניצלו את הזמן ליצירה ושחררו ביצוע לייב של השיר החדש Cyr. כעת השיר יוצא לאוויר בגסאת הסטודיו מלווה בקליפ מושקע.
במאית הקליפ, לינדה סרוברי מצהירה, “This is a goth fever dream of pent up emotion – an artistic visual release attempting to create a momentary escape from the emotional black cloud hanging over all of us this year, A dark seduction filmed in quarantine at a social distance”.
